We were contacted by a client that wanted us to Restore/ Rebuild a 1986 CJ7 that his father-in-law purchased new. We inspected the Jeep here in the shop, and discovered that the body and frame were so badly rusted that everything would need to be replaced. It was at that point we made a recommendation to take the build a different route….The plan was to re-create the Original Vintage CJ, with something more mechanically modern, as well as easy & comfortable to drive. To make a long story short…..We purchased arolled over 2004 Jeep TJ with a 4.0L, Rear Dana 44 & Four Wheel Disk Brakes & fitted a YJ Tub. So this Jeep actually pulls together the best parts of 3 generations!
Gale and I would like to thank everyone at Mount Zion Offroad for the fabulous restoration/modification job you did on our 1986 CJ-7. Today each of YOU (and us) were rewarded with a 1st Place Trophy in the Class 4 (CJ-7) Modified Division. We couldn't be happier with both the Jeep and the Award. I wish all of you were there when it was announced. A major tip of my Jeep cap to all of you. My father-in-law (the original owner) is looking down on all of us with a huge smile on his face. This Jeep was his baby!! Thanks again for the hard work & thought you put into this project.
